Breanna & Brodie – Australia Trip

Tuesday, November 26

Today was just a travel day. We got on the grey hound bus around 12:30pm and travelled to Townsville. We got there around 4:00pm and then caught a ferry out to Magnetic Island which is where we will be staying for the next few days. We checked into our hostel called Roamer, had supper and then just chilled at the hostel for the rest of the night!

Wednesday, November 27

Today we just hung out at the hostel at the pool. It is hard to get around the island as there are only a couple buses that only go by every couple hours.

We hung out here and also at the pool pretty much all day!

Thursday, November 28

Today, we went and rented a car for the day! We picked our car up at 9:30am and it’s a Mini Cooper convertible!

It took some time getting used to the steering wheel being on the wrong side and I also had to drive on the wrong side of the road.

The first stop we went to with the car is a spot where there is supposed to be tons of wallabies. It was just a short hike. We only seen a few wallabies. It was really hot out so they must have all been hiding in the rocks.

After this we just cruised around the island for a bit.

We went for some lunch and then decided to do the Forts Walk. Magnetic Island is known for this specific hike as you are almost gaurenteed to see some koalas.

This hike was long and hot!! Along the way there is a lookout called Arthur Bay Lookout.

We did luck out and see a koala! It was cool to see one in the wild compared to seeing them at the zoo.

After the hike we headed back to the hostel and cooled off in the pool and then went and returned the car. We spent the rest of the evening hanging out at the hostel.
